Welcome to 2011 - a promising year for our girls to grow in strength

Endeavour Volleyball girls started the year with the formation of 2 teams - Senior Girls and Junior Girls. We are happy that our young members have been training hard since last year to qualify for a Junior Girls team for our zonal competitions. Giona has also done us proud by leading the Senior Girls team. Nadia also lent us her support by playing for us this year and creating a strong bond among the girls.

Desaree is the captain for the Junior Girls team and has won the support of the girls through her dedication during trainings. Let us look forward to the growth of our girls!

North Zone Inter-Primary Volleyball Competition 2010

The last match we played with Ahmad Ibrahim Primary School on 08-02-2010. This was the match that decide our destiny. If we won, we will get a silver cup for our school, if we lost, we can only get back a copper one. In the end, we manage to win back a silver cup!!!!!!! That was so exciting!!!!!!!

We celebrate using the "gift" from beloved Mr Chia in the canteen of Woodlands Primary!!! Thank you Mr Chia!!!! The food and drinks are nice!!!!!!

Endeavour Cheer before we leave!!!

North Zone Inter-Primary Volleyball Competition 2010

In 2010, we have a new coach Mr Ku. He helps Mr Teo to coach our girls. He is nice!!!!

Oh yeah!!!!! We made into the National!!!!!!!!

Only the first 4 winning teams get to represent North zone to play in the National, we get the second place in North Zone!!!

The first team we met into was Yio Chu Kang Primary School. The game was held in Woodlands Pri on 21-01-2010. We won this very first match and indeed it gave us lots of confidence and make us believe that we are able to go further.

The second match was with Woodlands Primary School which held on 27-01-2010. Sweetie Farah and Cutie Khadijah were sick and couldn't attend the match. The players were slightly affected by this and they were not used to the new formation with the reserves. They are nervous and are frightened by our strong opponent Woodlands Pri, the winner of North Zone last year.

Farah's mother, Mdm Shikin even sms me and told me that Farah was so upset and cried for not able to play the match with her team mates. Poor thing ~~~

Although we lost the game, the girls get closer and are not blaming each other in their play.

Why we lost the match?
Quote from our dearest adviser, Mr Yaidi (:P),"It is okay for us to lose to a team but it is not okay for us to lose to a school." To simplify, he means that we have a perception that Woodlands Pri is very strong, so the players started to feel that without Farah and Khadijah, for sure we will not be able to perform like normal. Furthermore, our opponent is Woodlands Pri, for sure we are going to lose. Once we have that thinking in mind, we lost before the game starts.

What have we learnt from this match?
  1. Not to get too nervous on the court.
  2. Take good care of yourselves, stay healthy and happy.
  3. Not to be frightened by a "perceived strong team". We should try harder and not to give up until the referee blow the end of match whistle!!!!
  4. Not blaming your team mate.
  5. Move away from the spot that you make a mistake or the first and second touch so that your friend could fill in and help to hit the ball over.
  6. Extra trainings on Friday do works!!!!

National Inter-Primary Schools Soft Volleyball Carnival 2009 (02-10-2009)

This was the first time we joined the soft volleyball game. Only the junior girls get to play. Some of them had never played a match before. Although the players were not trained using soft volleyball, we managed to make into top 8. I was so excited when they managed to get into the second round.

From the games, Giona and Rymell started to shine... They were performing well at that time and win us a lot of points because of the good serves!!! Well done!!! Rymell, we miss you!!!

First Tournament - Xinghua Pri Cup (08-09-2009)

The tournament held in Xinghua Pri. Xinghua Pri was also the opponent for their first friendly match. Although we lost the friendly game and the tournament, we gained the exposure as well as the experience.

That time, Rymell was still with us. However, this year she left us and is now staying in her home country, Philippines. Rymell sweetie!!! Wish you all the best!!!

This was the souvenir that we got after the tournament. There were 4 teams in the senior girls section: Xinghua Pri, Fairfield Pri, Nan Hua Pri and Stamford Pri. Only the top three would get the trophies. We were quite disappointing at that time.

How to get the trophies then? The only way is to try harder, work harder, train harder!!!
